P.S. To whiten your teeth naturally, simply rub a mix of lemon essential oil, baking soda and coconut oil on your teeth for two minutes. Voila!

Major Help

Sometimes we just need a little help. Staying organized can be somewhat of a difficult task, especially for those who are not naturally considered the A type personality. As we are learning more about organization it’s nice to know that there is help. Not only can you ask others for help when you are trying to finish a task, which you should do by the way, but we can also find help in essential oils. Introducing marjoram…

I love to add a combination of marjoram and lavender to a handful of epsom salts to soak + soothe after a long day.

?Top Uses for Marjoram Essential Oil?
?Marjoram essential oil is effective in helping to relieve feelings of anxiousness, grief, hyperactivity, loss of sleep, tension and feelings of stress. You can add 2-3 drops to your diffuser, or add 8-10 drops in your bath water just before bedtime.
?It can soothe muscular aches and stiffness, sore joints, sprains and other musculoskeletal discomforts. Try adding 2-3 drops to 1 ounce of fractionated coconut oil and massage into affected areas. It can also be used in a hot or cold compress as needed.
?It provides relief from occasional constipation, indigestion, and flatulence. Use 2-3 drops in a carrier oil and massage on affected areas or the back.
?It has proven to be able to alleviate menstrual discomfort around that time of the month. Add 2-3 drops to a carrier oil and massage on lower abdomen and lower back. You could also use it in a hot compress or add 8-10 drops to your bath water for a refreshing bath.
?Marjoram oil is excellent for relieving discomfort from occasional skin irritations. You can add a drop to a dampened cotton ball and dab it on gently to the affected area.

?Marjoram essential oil can help to alleviate occasional discomfort. You can use it topically by adding 1-2 drops to a carrier oil and massaging over the area of concern. You can also add a few drops to your diffuser or take 2 drops internally in a veggie capsule One recipe in particular calls for 1 drop each of Frankincense and marjoram essential oil in an empty veggie capsule to take 2-3 times a day to help with discomfort.
?Marjoram essential oil promotes perspiration and keeps you healthy by aiding in the removal of toxins, sodium salts and excess water from the body. It helps to increase the frequency of urination. This also brings down elevated body temperatures and may help you lose weight since urine is composed of approximately 4% fat.
?Marjoram is a great oil for soothing the discomforts of contractions. You can dilute it and apply to your lower abdomen. It’s also great for after birth for the cramps that come while nursing.

On the Go

(Cont’d from blog post)

Need to feel a little revival or want some extra strength to push yourself over the hump day and through to the rest of the week? Why not reach for some “Joy to the Mountain”. Oregano actually means joy to the mountain in Greek! It’s a terrific name for this oil because of the amazing properties that it has!

Oregano is  by far one of the strongest antiseptics known to man! When using oregano, a small amount goes a LONG way! Oregano is…

“going the distance, it’s going for speed, it can act alone (act alone), Act alone for a lot of things you need. “

Lab tests have been shown that oregano actually eliminated a wide variety of pathogens such as bacteria, yeast, fungi, parasites and viruses quickly. Some of the top properties of oregano are carvacrol and thymol, these two compounds give oregano the ability to kill micros like a Bruce Lee’s Fist of Fury!  This is definitely a hot oil and needs to be used with cation, but this baby is definitely an oil you will want to have on hand when you feel like your body is acting like a little caterpillar and you want it to feel more like a butterfly!

Check out this amazing video of how awesome oregano is when paired with Melaleuca(Tea Tree) Oil

Oil of oregano is one of my all-time favorite smells and it also packs a punch when it comes to it’s health benefits.

Derived from the oregano plant by steam distillation, oil of oregano is so powerful that it must be diluted for safe use.

Once diluted, it can be added to a diffuser or vaporizer to clear up nasal passages. It’s also effective at providing temporary sore throat relief when added sparingly to juice or water for gargling. Not to mention, when added to a carrier oil (like coconut or almond oil), it may provide relief for skin conditions including skin abrasions, muscle aches, temporary relief of joint pain and even itchy or flakey scalp. (Just be careful not to apply it to broken or sensitive skin as it can be irritating.)

This specific essential oil is extremely powerful and a small bottle should outlast all of your other essential oils.

In fact, it is so strong that you’re most likely to find it already diluted versus concentrated. (You can purchase the dōTERRA® Touch roller bottle of oregano for a prediluted ready to go application).

So if you want to ensure that your body is fighting off the nastyness and that you are ready to keep being on the go, check out my doterra page for more informatoion.

Should you have any questions about how to use it or how strong it really is, please feel free to email me.

P.S. Oil of oregano is also a natural insect repellant due to the compound Carvacrol. It makes a great candle ingredient if you do not like the smell of citronella!

See Change

We can’t always see the changes going on inside of our bodies, we don’t have X-ray vision. Rest assured though if you are continuing your Fitness routine and are mindful of what you are eating you will see results, they might all always be when you want to see them but rest assured, in time you will see change, until then…

Pass me the Salsa!

● One drop of cilantro in in my salsa adds amazing flavor!
● We use cilantro to help with heavy metal detox. Once a week I do a cilantro detox bath with 10
drops of cilantro mixed in 1 cup of coconut milk, 2 cups of epsom salt or magenesium flakes, and 1 cup of baking soda. Mix everything up and pour into a HOT bath. Soak for at least 20 minutes till you are sweating and releasing toxins.

Keep it REAL

Real men have feelings too! At times they need a little extra help keeping it real… with similar notes as lavender, petitgrain is a manlier smell, you know, for the real men.

Fun Fact: The name Petitgrain is a French word that translates to “little grains.” It was given this name because the fruit of the bitter orange tree is quite small for a citrus fruit—about the size of a cherry.

Distilled from the leaves and twigs of the Citrus aurantium L. (bitter orange) tree, Petitgrain essential oil has a long history of use in perfumery and for its many health benefits. Despite being derived from a citrus tree, with high concentrations of linalyl acetate and linalool, Petitgrain is actually more chemically similar to floral and herb essential oils. Its refreshing combination of citrus, floral, and slightly woody aromatic notes provides some insight into its unique spectrum of benefits. Along with its distinct scent, Petitgrain offers calming, cleansing, and several body system-supporting benefits.

For more about the chemistry of Petitgrain click here.

Sourcing Petitgrain:

Petitgrain Oil Uses and Benefits

  1. Perhaps one of the greatest benefits of Petitgrain oil is its ability to promote relaxing feelings. Due to its chemical makeup, Petitgrain essential oil can be helpful in creating a calm, relaxed environment to promote feelings of relaxation. Consider placing a few drops of Petitgrain on your pillows and bedding before going to bed in order to enjoy its aromatic benefits. You can also combine other relaxing oils like Lavender or Bergamot with Petitgrain on the bedding to promote a more relaxing atmosphere.
  2. Petitgrain oil has long been known for its benefits to the body when taken internally. Taking Petitgrain internally can help benefit internal systems like the cardiovascular, nervous, digestive, and immune systems.* To enjoy the internal benefits of Petitgrain oil for the body’s systems, add one to two drops of the oil to water or other beverages.* Not only will this allow you to reap the internal benefits of the oil, but you’ll simultaneously get to enjoy the fresh taste that Petitgrain has to offer.
  3. The relaxing properties of Petitgrain essential oil can also be beneficial for massage. When you want a relaxing foot massage, dilute a few drops of Petitgrain oil with doTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil before rubbing the combination on the bottoms of the feet. As you breathe in the calming scent of Petitgrain oil and massage the feet, you’ll feel relaxed in no time.

  5. Similar to other citrus essential oils, Petitgrain oil makes a great addition to hot beverages. If you enjoy drinking herbal tea or other hot drinks, consider adding a few drops of Petitgrain oil to help enhance the flavor. Not only will you enjoy the unique flavor of Petitgrain oil, but you’ll also benefit from the calming properties it provides.*
  6. To help reduce the appearance of skin imperfections, consider adding a couple drops of Petitgrain oil to Fractionated Coconut Oil and applying it to skin blemishes or imperfections. When using a new essential oil topically, it can be helpful to test a small dose of the oil on your skin to ensure that it doesn’t cause any skin sensitivity or irritation. Due to their potency, it is also important to dilute essential oils with a carrier oil before using them on the skin to help minimize skin irritation.
  7. Want to create a calming atmosphere in your home, office, or classroom? Diffuse Petitgrain oil in the essential oil diffuser of your choice when you want to create a relaxing, calming environment. You can also combine Petitgrain with other calming oils like BergamotLavender, or Eucalyptus to further promote relaxation.

Frankly Said

Cont’d from blog post from Feb. 16, 2018.

Did you ace the quiz? If you said Frankincense, give yourself a big hand slap (high five)! So, why was baby Jesus given Frankincense?

Many scholars believe that the gift of Frankincense signifies Jesus’ priesthood. Although he was just a baby, he was already set apart, the Magi understood that Jesus wasn’t your everyday king. The Magi were also men who were very blessed and could afford frankincense. Frankincense has always been a highly valuable resin. The amount of work that it takes to harvest frankincense makes this resin not only valuable, but also very precious and worthy.

We now understand more about Frankincense and clearly, it is an amazing gift! Frankincense is known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic abilities. The properties of frankincense make it an immunostimulant, anticancerous, antidepressant, and very restorative. We now see that this could be connected to immune modulating effects that might explain uses for both inflammatory illness and antimicrobial purposes.

This is by far my FAVORITE oil! I always tell people, if I was ever on a deserted island and could only have 3 or 5 things, Frankincense would definitely be an item on my list! Frankincense, like Jesus, is known as a king. Frankincense is commonly refered to as “the king of all oils”… or what I like to call it, “Jesus in a bottle”! The constituents found in frankincense make this oil very powerful and useful.

For more information on Frankincense check out my doTERRA page.

In today’s post we were instructed to take some time to listen to the lyrics of the song Oceans by Hillsong United. That song means so much to my heart. One of the things that I have found that really helps me get into a more relaxed state in which I can focus on God is using lavender essential oil.

This is a staple in everyone’s home! I love using lavender to help promote a relaxing and calming atmosphere.
If you want to just unwind a little bit or help your babies calm down, Lavender is a must. You can diffuse Lavender in your home throughout the day to freshen the air. I love using lavender towards the evening in the diffuser. I find that it helps me calm myself before sleeping.

With a distinct aroma and countless applications, Lavender has been used for centuries. Anciently, the Romans and Egyptians would use Lavender as perfume and for bathing and cooking. Since that time, many have discovered the myriad benefits that Lavender holds—using Lavender oil topically for skin, internally to ease feelings of tension and promote restful sleep,* and more. The versatile properties of Lavender essential oil make it a doTERRA favorite, and a must-have oil to keep on hand at all times.

Here is some great science research about using Lavender for calming and sleep: Lavender and Sleep.

Lavender can also be used for cooking! It adds a very unique flavor that is a delight two Savory and sweet meals alike. If you would like more information about using lavender and cooking join me this coming Sunday for a cooking Essentials class. If you would like more information please comment below and I will send you that info.
