We are glad to be back and ready to rock! We had some quality family time over spring break. Time was spent in the hill country: Gruene, Wimberely, and Canyon Lake. Our little buddy even spent the night with Grandma and Grandpa while Mom and Dad had a night to themselves at Gruene Hall!
Daily Dose of the Word
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
A yoke is a heavy wooden harness that fits over the shoulders of an ox. It is attached to a piece of equipment that oxen are to pull. Our “yoke” can be: sin, religious attitudes, temptation, oppression/persecution, weariness. Basically, anything that stresses you out and makes you tired is a yoke. Something that weighs you down. Jesus frees people from all these burdens. The rest that Jesus promises is love, healing, and peace with God, not the end of all labor. A relationship with God changes meaningless, wearisome toil into spiritual productivity and purpose. Having God does not mean you will have a life with no problems, it means you will no longer face your problems alone.
Let’s see how we’re dong compared to the last time we tried the first workout!
