Keep it Real Tuesday

I keeps it real!  A four word sentence means many different things depending on who’s reading it.  Some think keeping it real is the slang term used by the youngsters and “cool” people.  To me, it means to do what is right all the time.  I keep it real because I am honest and have nothing to hide.  Do you keep it real?

Dose of the Daily Word

Listening and Doing

19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

Reflection

Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.  It’s not saying some people but all people.  Stay patient and lean on God when you feel the anger start to build.  Marriage has taught me to never speak out of anger because it never does any good, only harm.  Responding with love when you have been wronged shows God’s righteousness.

Ridding ourselves of everything that is not of God will do a world of wonder.  The world is a self-centered place.  It wants us to get rich, famous, and seek to find all the pleasures the world can offer.  Our way is other-centered.  We want to serve others, show grace, and be kind to everyone we meet.  Accept the gift of Jesus Christ and watch your life be dramatically changed.  It will be awesome.  It is awesome.

  1. Isn't God so gracious! I love how he tells us exactly what we need to do in order to live in his abundant, glorious, fulfilling plans. Being kind all the time is tough work though. We are human, our emotions are real! But God never says don't feel emotion, he instructs us to give it to him. He made us the way we are, he knew there would be days when our emotions would get the best of us, but he also wants to know that we love him more than what we are feeling. Feelings come and go but his love will never leave us. So what's more important to you? The feelings that you have at this very moment or God's love for you? That's the question that I have to come back to every single day, in my own head, so I can put back into perspective what God has instructed of me.
