Hooray! It’s Saturday, the day of getting better!
Dose of the Daily Word #Get you some Jesus
Deuteronomy 1:9-18 New International Version (NIV)
The Appointment of Leaders
9 At that time I said to you, “You are too heavy a burden for me to carry alone. 10 The Lord your God has increased your numbers so that today you are as numerous as the stars in the sky. 11 May the Lord, the God of your ancestors, increase you a thousand times and bless you as he has promised! 12 But how can I bear your problems and your burdens and your disputes all by myself? 13 Choose some wise, understanding and respected men from each of your tribes, and I will set them over you.”
14 You answered me, “What you propose to do is good.”
15 So I took the leading men of your tribes, wise and respected men, and appointed them to have authority over you—as commanders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens and as tribal officials.16 And I charged your judges at that time, “Hear the disputes between your people and judge fairly, whether the case is between two Israelite’s or between an Israelite and a foreigner residing among you. 17 Do not show partiality in judging; hear both small and great alike. Do not be afraid of anyone, for judgment belongs to God. Bring me any case too hard for you, and I will hear it.” 18 And at that time I told you everything you were to do.
Reflection Goes Deeper than what you see in the Mirror
When the work overwhelmed Moses, God encouraged him to create an organizational structure. Structure gives members clear guidelines for how to proceed; structure binds members together; structure is inevitable. My take is a structured day. Everyday begins with waking up and thanking God for what he has blessed me with through his Son. My day continues serving him through my actions, thoughts, and words. The day ends with my family and this blog. I pray that you are refreshed this weekend and that you search after the Lord with all your heart to find the comfort you deserve that He alone can provide. In Jesus name, Amen.
Daily Workout – Time to get your sweat on
This workout is going to put everything you learned this week to the test!
The following videos are refreshers if you need them or if you’re bored and want some entertainment.
Today’s workout will be for time. Make sure you do every movement safely, with proper form and at your own pace. Quality then Quantity.
50 squats, 40 pushups, 30 forward lunges (15 on each side), 20 superman, 20 hollow bodies, 10 burpees
Now, if that is not enough and you really want to get your sweat on; after you finish the 10 burpees, do 10 more burpees and go back up the workout. (e.g., 10 burpees, 20 hollow bodies, 20 superman, 30 lunges, 40 pushups, 50 squats)
I recommend at least a thirty minute cool down. Jog, walk, run. Be outside and enjoy nature time!
Ya’ll have a great weekend and see ya Monday.
Sunday is the day of rest 🙂 We won’t be posting here, but if you have Facebook please join my wife as she presents her Cleaning Essentials Facebook Live Class. Be sure to register for it by clicking here: Register Now!
Natural Solutions – Stay Grounded
I am preaching to the choir but after subjecting our bodies to far greater levels of stress in the pursuit of our goals, we are definitely in need of some rest! We all know that, although tiring, this journey is well worth it and it is a necessary part of our training regimen. But stressing our bodies for the sake of fitness can have far-reaching ramifications on many aspects of your health.
Many of the challenges start with the adrenal glands which many consider to be the stress management centers of our bodies.
Cortisol plays a role in hundreds of different functions within the body. It affects the way proteins, fats and carbohydrates are metabolized, mediates inflammation within the body, influences detoxification capability, modulates immune function, and assists in the regulation of blood sugar and cellular energy production to name just a few roles.
When the body is under stress, cortisol will increase as a compensatory mechanism. Stress in this context may be mental or emotional or may come in the form of physical stressors such as rigorous training.
The key to maintaining your Adrenal Health is most certainly rest and rejuvenation, but often our bodies need additional support which is where today’s hack comes to the rescue! Check out more on how to combat this stress on the Natural Solutions – Keep Calm and Stay Grounded page.
